Bethlehem

A bit of Christmas Trivia: Did you know there were 2 Bethlehem’s in the Bible? I didn’t know it either until my father, Sam Burkholder, asked me about it. I began to do some research and found it to be true. If you google “Bethlehem of Galilee map” you will find a Google Map of the lesser known Bethlehem. It is located perhaps 6-8 miles North West of Nazareth. Because of the mountains, there is no direct route and the shortest route on ogle Maps is 25.3 Kilometers (31 minutes). In Joshua 18, Joshua begins to divide the Promised Land by tribe. In In Joshua 19: 10-16, the tribe of Zebulun receives their portion. In verse 15 Bethlehem is mentioned. If you do any research you will soon find that Zebulun’s inheritance was in the Northern part of Israel. This makes prophecies like Micah 5:2 even more important. Micah specified that the Savior would be born in Bethlehem Ephratah (in Judah) and not just a generic Bethlehem. Do your own research. This is one source I used.
